PromptTalk Business Phone Systems

Many businesses in Britain are feeling the knock-on effects of the ‘credit crunch’.  Your phone system probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when looking for ways to cut costs and stay profitable in these difficult economic times.  But we’re helping businesses save money by harnessing the power of VoIP.

So what is “VoIP”, and why can it save you money and improve your phone system?

VoIP stands for "Voice over Internet Protocol".  Put simply, it is making phone calls over your existing data (i.e. computer) network, rather than using a separate phone network.  VoIP is a revolutionary leap in business phone systems, and it’s happening right now.  BT’s new 21CN network BT’s new 21CN (21st Century Network) is being installed across the country, to replace the old PSTN telephone network.  50% of BT’s customers are now in the covered area and completion is expected in 2011.  It’s a great time to update your phone system and save some money while you do!

We’re very proud to introduce PromptTalk, a VoIP telephone system for small and medium-sized businesses.    Our expertise in networking has given us the perfect background to understand and deliver the benefits of VoIP technology.  Read on to discover what some of those benefits are.

Lower Call Costs

When we’ve analysed our customers phone bills for them, many are surprised to find that they’re spending thousands of pounds a year.  Others know that their phone bills are high, but not that there is another way!  With VoIP your calls won’t be routed over the PTSN network, but over Internet Protocol, so the cost of making calls is significantly lower.  Did you know a properly configured system can make calls to the UK and even abroad for free?  Combined with how affordable our system is, some of our customers with heavier phone usage have found that their new systems will pay for themselves in a matter of months.

Greater Flexibility and Lower Maintenance Costs

Because each phone handset is an IP device, they can be added or removed from the network just as easily as a PC or printer.  By eliminating the need for separate voice and data networks, the cost of maintaining and adapting these networks to your changing needs is greatly reduced.Once it’s installed, the simplicity of the new system means that you won’t even need us to help you make changes in the future.  If someone joins or leaves your organisation, there’s no need for specialist knowledge or to call out a phone technician to add or remove handsets.  We can supply extra handsets pre-configured – you just plug them in and they’re ready to go.  Of course, we’re always happy to help if you prefer to leave it to us.

Home & Remote Working

Your own sites can be connected in a way that allows you to call your other branches for nothing, as if you were dialling an internal extension.  This can also be done for your home office or your employees’ home offices, easily and effectively letting you work from home.  You can be reached as easily and as cheaply as if you were at a desk in the office, and customers who call you won’t know the difference, giving you the flexibility to work where and when you want.

Professional Presence

Your customers will notice a difference, too.  Your new system can be configured with an array of call-centre quality features, such as auto-attendants (e.g. “Press 1 for Sales, 2 for Customer Services”) and caller announcements (e.g. “Thank you for waiting.  You are 2nd in the queue.”).  There’s also Voicemail for each extension, and many other professional features to give your business a big presence.

Call Handling

Comprehensive call handling features give you the flexibility to easily transfer calls between your phones, pickup calls that are ringing to other phones in the office, set your phone to Do Not Disturb, put callers on hold with music or your own recorded messages (perhaps special offers or information about your product line) or forward and re-direct calls.

Future Proofing

Our VoIP systems are designed to work with BT’s 21CN network from the ground up, and are fully compatible.  The new network allows for a wealth of new features, such as the ones above and more (e.g. call conferencing for free), which older phone systems can’t take advantage of.  You can be confident that your new system will be up to date and relevant for years to come.

Excellent Value

Our phone system has no hidden costs – all the features and functionality come as standard, while other systems will force you to pay extra for voicemail, call conferencing, etc as “add-ons”.  As a result, we’re often hundreds or even thousands of pounds cheaper than quotes for systems of the same size and functionality.  We can do this because we work closely with the manufacturers of the system, who have low costs because they’re a passionate team who’ve spent their time and effort on making a great system, not on expensive branding and publicity.

Unlike many other cost-cutting measures, saving money on your phone calls by adapting VoIP will improve your business, not reduce your effectiveness!
